CLEVIS OS

Photos that tell the next person enough.

The point is a usable record. Each photo should answer a question the person receiving the job will have.

Illustrative work scene. Concept photography.

Make the equipment identifiable.

  • An overall view that distinguishes the asset from nearby equipment.
  • A readable label or approved equipment identifier, where accessible under the applicable work procedure.
  • The job reference and capture date associated with the record.

Connect the finding to its location.

Do not guess a diagnosis from a photo or create an unsafe position to obtain one. Follow site rules and the applicable service procedure.

  • A wider context image before a close-up.
  • A focused image of the documented observation, with a factual caption.
  • A reference that lets the reader find the matching note or measurement.

Keep evidence and conclusions separate.

If appropriate to the work, document the condition after the task and connect it to the completed-work entry. A before-and-after pair may explain a change; it does not by itself establish safety, compliance or full job completion.

Review what else is in the frame.

  • Avoid people, unrelated customer property and personal information when they are not needed.
  • Follow the customer’s and employer’s permission rules.
  • Send the intended record to the intended recipient.
  • Keep open items visible even when the photo set is complete.
